October 2–4, 2017 Saint Petersburg State University announces the III International Forum “Russia and Iberoamerica in a globalizing world: history and modernity”. The Forum is the most representative and remarkable event in Russia, dedicated to the discussion of the socio-political and economic processes in Latin America, as well as its history and culture. Psychological warfare plays an important role in the modern world. While reflecting intensified economic, social, political and military conflicts psychological warfare is in itself a powerful factor that can bring about further sharpening of national conflicts and international tension. Latin America is in the focus of psychological warfare. Complex regional development and global processes demand of Latin America countries a growing capability to present an effective asymmetric response to informational challenges and various attempts of psychological pressure.
Within this section we are planning to discuss:
- major trends, methods and models of psychological warfare;
- political, economic, military, media factors of psychological warfare in Latin America;
- contemporary practice of psychological warfare in the region;
- strategic communication of Russia, China, USA and other countries in Latin America.
